A smart repair is a temporary cosmetic touch-up usually done on a driveway, where paint is sprayed over the damaged area. Mint Alloys only provides full, factory-standard refurbishments at our workshop. We chemically strip the entire wheel down to bare aluminium and prepare it in an aqua blast cabinet before applying oven-baked powder coats and lacquers, ensuring a durable, showroom finish that lasts.
To maintain our strict standards, we usually manage car drop-offs on Mondays and Wednesdays. Loose wheels can be dropped off at anytime. For standard powder coating or precision diamond cutting, we typically require your vehicle or loose wheels for two to three working days. This timeframe allows our technicians to complete our thorough multi-stage chemical stripping, technical machining, and oven-curing processes without cutting corners.
If planned ahead we can discuss a same day turnaround, this is not something we can guarantee due to factors outside of our control but we will endeavour to turn the work round as fast as possible.
Yes, in the vast majority of cases we can safely straighten buckled wheels and TIG-weld hairline cracks right here in our workshop. Every wheel undergoes a rigorous safety assessment first. If the damage is too structural to be safely repaired, we will inform you immediately, as your on-road safety is our absolute priority.
We regularly handle wheel refurbishments for lease returns and PCP vehicles. Returning a car with kerbed or corroded alloys often results in heavy financial penalties from the leasing company. Bringing your car to us beforehand ensures the wheels meet strict factory return standards at a fraction of the penalty cost.
Yes, we offer a full 12-month warranty against paint flaking or lacquer defects on our standard powder coated wheels. Due to the nature of raw machined aluminium, diamond cut wheels come with a 6-month warranty. Please note that our warranty does not cover subsequent kerb damage, tyre-fitting mishaps elsewhere, or harsh chemical cleaner degradation and corrosion (white worm).
